Our History
Meridian Title Company was founded in 1980 by Darrell Back. In 1984, Darrell’s brother-in-law, Jim Ivins, a real estate attorney, joined as partner. Together Darrell and Jim provided superior title work and a business built on integrity that became captioned in the slogan “We do good deeds”. Where others saw problems, they saw opportunities. Clients took note and Meridian became the company who could get the job done, and get it done right.
Decades later, the founding philosophy remains ingrained in Meridian’s culture. “We do good deeds” is more than a slogan, it’s a standard of work.
In order to meet the varying needs of each client and transaction, Meridian Title Company works with multiple industry leading underwriters. Each of these partners provide products and expertise that allow Meridian to give unrivaled transactional support. The title insurance products Meridian issues are backed by the strength of these nationally recognized underwriters.
Meridian Title Company supports the American Land Title Association (ALTA) Best Practices, which are designed to meet quality of service and the security of consumer information standards set by the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB). Meridian Title’s policies and procedures are in compliance with these Best Practices.
